New Washington Middle/High School Band Booster Meeting

Attendance: 8 people present.
Treasurer’s Report: Around $21,000 in checking account with most bills paid. We received the money from Wal-mart. We have had $40,582 in income and $29,640 in expenses so far.
Concession Stand-we need a handbook, guidelines, policy and procedures. To include what the supply managers duties would be and what they would be responsible for. Also needed is a job description for each station in the concession area and the rules. Nancy Richter, LeAnn and Mr. Kahl were appointed for the committee. We also voted on the amount to pay the supply manager ($350 a year, to be paid by a check.)
The Jamboree is April 13th. More information will be forthcoming.
The High School Concert is April 27th and will be a joint concert with Morristown High Schools Band. Full concert dress will be needed as composite pictures may be taken. After the concert there will be a lock-in for those students wishing to stay the night. Mr. Kahl, his brother, the band teacher for Morristown, and some parents will Chaperone. There is a possibility of opening the pool for swimming with Megan Stivers lifeguarding.
The Middle school, jazz band and percussion ensemble concert will be May 15th.
We now have some brochures to help with recruitment. We still need more parents participating. We will try to do the Fireman’s Festival like last year and we hope to have a cookout in May for the incoming 6th grade band members and their parents.
Insurance coverage for loss of funds was discussed. We received a letter from Greater Clark School Board about this insurance. The info will be looked at. We will have a self-audit or a regular audit done at the end of the fiscal year.
Uniforms- we are looking for ideas, would like to have uniforms for the marching band by May 2008 for the Chicago trip we plan to take. Machine washable uniforms and designs are being looked at. The marching band members should already have the shoes.
Fund Raisers-discount cards will be done again this year (aka Power Cards). They will be sold for $10 each and offer a discount at local businesses. We are looking for sponsors for the marching band. Maybe have their logo on our band room wall, flag to announce the band, etc.
