New Washington Middle/High School Band Booster Meeting


Minutes from February 5, 2007

Since attendance was below 5 people it was a Booster Discussion.

A couple of points were brought up to Mr. Kahl about the Pep Band.
A- Roping off the Pep Band section at the games so the Pep Band members have seats.
B- Posters or signs in the concession area stating that the money earned at the concession stand goes to the Band Boosters.

Defining the positions of the concession manager and the supply manager for the concession stand. Set in writing a policy for the concession stand including what is expected of the kids and parents working at the booth, have pages listing how to open and close the booth and how to make the various food items.

Parent/teacher conferences and science fair will be on February 15th. Hours are after school till 6:30pm. There will be a table in the band room with one Booster parent working to hand out brochures, coffee and cookies.

There will be a cookout in the spring at the school. The 5th graders and their parents will be invited. The purpose is to let them meet the Booster parents and get information on the Band Boosters.

There is a concert on the 27th of April. Band pictures will be taken that night. There is a possibility of this concert being a joint concert with Morristown Band. If Morristown comes to New Washington there will be a lock in that night for the band members. There is a concert scheduled for May 15th also.

The Band Banquet is scheduled for May 21st and the pictures taken in April will be shown to parents and picture packages will be sold.

A trip to Chicago was discussed for next year for the Marching Band. We would like to have new uniforms for the trip. A small committee needs to be brought together to discuss ideas for the uniforms, fund raiser, etc.

The color guard will be doing an exhibition routine at Scottsburg High School, Saturday, February 10th.

Next meeting will be the 5th of March.
